Solomon House Outreach Mission
in New Iberia carries out the "Second Wave" following Hurricane Katrina
and Hurricane Rita. Volunteers sort and distribute clothing sent to the
mission from all parts of the United States to clothe 1,000 evacuees housed
in Iberia Parish. Solomon House also distributed food, hygiene supplies,
water, and funds for emergency assistance to evacuees.
The mission has been open daily since Katrina ravaged
Louisiana. Volunteers and staff were preparing for a break in operation
when Hurricane Rita struck. Evacuees from Orleans, Jefferson, Cameron,
St. Bernard, Plaquemine, Vermilion, Iberia, Calcasieu Parishes and from
Port Arthur and Beaumont, Texas have been served by this bustling little
mission in the Queen City of the Teche. Your help with the work of Solomon
House will be greatly appreciated. Solomon House Outreach Mission, 520
Center St., New Iberia, LA 70560, Tel. 337-364-7798, The Fax number is
the same.
Archdeacon
Diane Moore is the executive director of Solomon House.
