The Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana believes that maintaining a safe environment for children and youth is a priority. Our first line of defense is conducting background checks on all adults participating in youth programs to ensure suitability.
A criminal history will not prevent you from participating in any program; however, all records will be evaluated by the Diocese and a decision will be made on a case by case bases after considering the nature of the crime as well as the nature of the role you have applied for.
Background checks will be conducted electronically through the Diocese’s background screening partner, Praesidium. After you have completed the initial Background Request Form (found below), you will receive and email from that will include a link to a secure website where you will enter your information and provide consent to conduct the background check.
You will need to provide Praesidium with your full legal name, address, date of birth, social security number, and for specific roles, your driver’s license information. Please take your time and ensure you are entering accurate information, errors and typos may cause delays or prevent you from participating in Diocesan programs.
When you receive your email invitation, please complete it as soon as possible, the process is time sensitive and all participants are expected to submit their information within seven (7) days of receipt of the initial email. Please note that the invitation email is for your use only, do not forward it to another individual as each link can only be used once.
