Post-General Convention meetings are being held in each Convocation of the Diocese. On Tuesday, August 18, the next of the gatherings will convene at Grace, Monroe, followed by a Tuesday, August 25 meeting at Good Shepherd in Lake Charles, and a Thursday, August 27 gathering at Ascension, Lafayette.

At each gathering, members of the Western Louisiana deputation to General Convention joins the Rt. Rev'd D. Bruce MacPherson in a discussion of General Convention actions and their possible impact on Western Louisiana. Each gathering also has time for questions from attendees.

Bishop MacPherson has also asked members of the diocesan Standing Committee to attend as many of the gatherings as possible to get a sense of where the diocese stands on the issues facing the church.

All interested Episcopalians are urged to attend. Each gathering will include a discussion of General Convention issues by the deputation and a presentation by Bishop MacPherson. There will also be sufficient time allotted for questions from attendees.

Bishop MacPherson wishes to emphasize the fact that these are not intended to be Convocation gatherings, but rather, opportunities for individuals to attend the gathering that fits their schedule best.
