Mt. Olivet renovation moves forward, Diocesan House
offices are moving

The complete renovation and restoration of historic Mt. Olivet Chapel and adjoining Diocesan House shifts into high gear the week of June 16. First work on the project, which included the removal and storage of the 1850's era wooden chapel's stain-glass windows and furniture, was accomplished more than a year ago.

After much waiting and anticipation, plans for the renovation have been completed, a contractor selected, and moving day for the diocesan offices is here.

The moving vans will arrive Monday morning, June 16, and Bishop MacPherson says that Monday and Tuesday, June 16 and 17 will be spent moving to "our temporary home, where we will be situated for about one year." As of Tuesday, June 17, the physical address for Diocesan House will be:

The Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana
          3600 Jackson Street, Suite 201
          Alexandria, LA 71303

The mailing address continues to be the same:
          P. O. Box 2031
          Alexandria, LA 71309-2031

The telephone number and fax numbers of Diocesan House remain the same:

          318-442-1304 telephone

318-442-8712 fax

The new quarters for Diocesan House are located in Dunbar Plaza, which is just west of MacArthur Drive on Jackson Street. Parking for the office center is on the west side of the building.
