Medical Update on Bishop MacPherson

October 5, 2005

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

PRAISE THE LORD ... AND THANKS BE TO GOD!

The journey to the orthopedic surgeon in Shreveport was well worth all 240 miles on the road. Analysis of the doctor is that the emergency room doctor misread the x-rays, and rather than fractures, I have successfully torn up the ligaments and soft tissue in my ankle and knee. The good news is there will be no surgery; and the rest of the news is that I will continue with the immobilizer on my ankle and foot, along with the crutches, for about four to six weeks.

The outpouring of expressions of prayer is most appreciated and I look forward to being with many of you at Diocesan Convention on October 29!

Blessings in abundance.

The Rt. Rev'd D. Bruce MacPherson
Bishop of Western Louisiana
