Deadlines set for Diocesan Convention resolutions and nominations
Preparations are underway for the Thirty-First Annual Convention of the Diocese of Western Louisiana, which will be held October 15 and 16 at the Alexander Fulton Hotel in Alexandria.
September 6, 2010 has
been set as the deadline for:
Resolutions
for consideration by Convention
This date is necessary
for resolutions to be included in the
pre-Convention packet
sent to Convention attendees.
Nominations forms for elections to be held at Convention
which include:
General Convention
2012 deputies:
•
Four clergy and four lay deputies to be elected
• Four clergy and four lay deputy alternates will also
be selected
Diocesan
Standing Committee (3-year term)
•
One priest from the Acadiana Convocation
• One lay person from the Lake Charles Convocation
Trustee
of the University of the South (3-year term)
•
One lay person
Please download the nomination form and submit it fully completed by September
6, 2010.
Other resolutions of substance to be considered by Convention, and submitted
from the floor, must be in the hands of the Secretary of Convention no later
than 1:00 p.m. on the first business day of Convention. Such resolutions must
be submitted in writing along with
three hundred (300) printed copies for distribution to all voting delegates.
